For instance, this company — Sierra Instruments — makes and distributes state-of-the-art flow meters, such as this ultrasonic water flowmeter — so advanced that you don’t even have to shut off the water (or whatever other fluid it’s measuring) in order to install it!  End of last year, Sierra Instruments got an energy to upgrade the entire plant with a model of liquid flow calibrator that ultimately saves the energy company money on reduced employee labor and maintenance costs.
