One of the best types of poker players to face are those that like to play for the fun of it and really don’t care about the money.  The goal of poker is to win money, not to have fun.  When someone comes to the table with those goals in reverse, it usually winds up being a profitable night.

The other day, I faced this guy that worked for a San Diego SEO company.  His main job during the day is to provide SEO training to webmasters.  During the evenings, his job is to fund my poker bankroll.  This guy has absolutely no clue of how to play and usually he gets taken for a couple hundred dollars a night.

Barry Greenstein once said that he liked taking money from rich people because it didn’t really bother them.  I have to agree with him.  When you take money from someone that really doesn’t care, it makes your job a lot less stressful and also ensures that you will play with them again. 

Of course, I probably wouldn’t associate with the guy outside of the casino unless I thought I could get him into another poker game.  He just isn’t the sort of person I associate with.  However, when we are at the poker tables, he is my new best friend.
