Close your eyes and picture a really powerful tattoo. Imagine the kind of tattoo that a woman could get which would cause men to drop to their knees and propose marriage. Sound absurd? I’ve seen it happen and it was fairy tattoos that did it.

My friend Cindy had been chasing after this guy for years and they’d finally started dating. She was far more serious about the relationship than he was but she was slowly wearing him down. One night, after they had both had too much to drink, he told her about a dream that he’d had during his childhood.

The dream was a fanciful child’s dream with him as the star. In the dream, the guy’s two little sisters were in some sort of trouble and he had to slay a dragon to save them. For some reason, the dream had stuck with him as a symbol of the way that he protected his sisters throughout the years. He told this to Cindy in confidence and she could tell how much it meant to him.

About a year later, she was ready to get married and he still wasn’t fully committed to the relationship. She decided that she would get a tattoo to symbolize how permanent she felt her love for him was. She went to the tattoo shop and started looking at heart tattoos but then a set of dragon tattoos caught her eye. That reminded her of the dream and she ended up getting two fairy tattoos on her shoulder blade.

It was a gesture that represented several different things to the guy. Ultimately, it showed him that she really listened to him and took him seriously. It was enough to send him over the edge. He proposed shortly thereafter and they’ve been living their "happily ever after" ever since.
