My Husband’s Search for the Perfect Chair

My husband has been on a quest to find the perfect chair for some time now. He started disliking our couch a year ago or more, so we got him an armchair last fall. Then he started disliking that, so now he’s looking for a new chair — again.
It’s kind of an ongoing joke with me, because I think my husband has the most finicky butt ever. It doesn’t take long before a chair starts bother his bum, and then he complains that it’s “breaking down” or some such nonsense.
I can’t tell a difference, of course — I think they feel just the same as they always did. I wonder if part of the problem is that he is just becoming accustomed to the feel of the new chair, and therefore it doesn’t feel like it offers as much support as it used to.
I think a good (and rather appropriate) joke would be to start suggesting lift chairs – you know, those chairs that they make for people with medical conditions who can’t easily move around or who need to have a chair that can essentially convert into a bed. I wonder if he would get the point if I started suggesting he try something like that!
