I feel the distinct need to start to talk about Disability Insurance for Physician friends of mine because I have been looking at Disability Insurance Quotes and really they are not bad at all. I think we as physicians do no really consider how important it is to us that we get and keep ourselves covered for these kinds of unplanned events that always seem like it happens to someone else but I could never happen to us.

 I guess the reason that I am thinking specifically about this today is because I was almost in a head on collision today and all I was doing was going to the grocery store to pick up some eggs, bread, milk, butter and all the normal things like that for my wife so she could do some baking for me and my family tonight. It is that kind of thing that sends you out into the world and can just completely blindside you. What if I had not been able to avoid that accident and was disabled for the rest of my life? What then? If I were not insured and I could never practice medicine again, my family would be in a lot of trouble. I am getting insurance.
