Another Generation Finds Star Wars

In the 1970’s, Star Wars jetted onto the scene revolutionizing the entertainment industry and taking its audience to a place never before visited. Into the 1980’s, the buzz surrounding each new installment left audiences dazzled with the special effects, creative cinematography and marvelous storylines. The three part prequel excited audiences and introduced the story to another generation of “The Force” followers in the 2000’s.

Finding couples costumes is difficult for us because if my husband likes one theme, I like another. While he seeks out something very gory or scary, I opt for funny halloween costumes. We’ve tried combination themes, like doctor and nurse and football player and cheerleader. Each year, the battle between us starts as the first Halloween costumes hit the shelves and the invitation to our friend’s annual party arrives in the mail.

This year, we decided to go with a Star Wars theme. Always a fan of the “Dark Side”, my husband decided to dress up in a darth vader costume and I opted to go with a Princess Leia costume instead of a storm trooper.  We debated the merits of Princess Leia or Senator Amidala since she was supposed to be Darth Vader’s wife but in the end, my husband wanted to see me wear the hair buns.
