My little son so dearly loves to play in running water that I’m thinking about getting a water wall fountain.  I can’t think of anything else that he can play in that wouldn’t just waste water like a running hose or bathtub would, and you can get one whether you have a yard or just a studio apartment.

I don’t know why he must have RUNNING water, but for some reason he’s fascinated with it.  He’s got a little kiddie pool, of course, and he’s okay with it.  The pool even has a little hook-up where you can screw in a hose and it makes the little flower into kind of a fountain.  But since it’s a kiddie pool, you really need to empty it out after each use and that kind of wastes the water.

I think a water feature like wall fountains is a great answer because it’s not deep enough for him to drown in, I like them-they’re beautiful, and the water is recycled continuously so there isn’t a lot of waste.  I just know that he’s going to put his hands into it over and over again.  And that will be great for me because right now, he not only wants to do that in the tub, he wants me to hold him up to every drinking fountain we see.  So maybe this will satisfy his urge once and for all!
