College Before College?

Online colleges are quickly becoming a viable method of obtaining higher education. The advantages of low cost and flexibility associated with an online degree appeals to many people. One aspect of an online college degree many may have not considered is using these courses to earn college credit while you’re still in high school.
Taking courses ahead of time is both practical and economical. College is expensive, no denying that. By doing your freshman courses ahead of time, you’ll help lessen the work load later on.
Another advantage is advanced placement. If your high school is in a small, rural town, your school may not have access to many AP (advanced placement) courses. The internet removes physical borders and opens up new academic territories for you to explore.
What happens if you have to take a course over? No one wants to go to summer school to make up for a less-than-adequate grade. The new term is “credit recovery”, which is a nice way of saying you have to retake a class. The online option allows you to fit the required courses into your schedule and still graduate with your class.
The internet provides us with many more options for education than our parents and their parents had. Why not take advantage of the situation?
