What a Two-Year-Old Wants to Be When He Grows Up

I worked in childcare throughout high school and college, and I have some pretty funny stories. In one preschool, for example, I worked in the toddler rooms for a while. Their playground overlooked the dumpster, and one of our outdoor times was at the same time as the garbage pickup each week. I can’t tell you how many kids in that class dreamed of being a garbage truck driver when they grew up.
Luckily early fantasies and passions such as those don’t last into later childhood — not usually, at any rate. Kids start dreaming of being something a little more exciting and cool than driving a big noisy truck around all day. They start dreaming of being paleantologists and astronauts and firefighters.
That’s not the end, either — as kids grow older, their interests mature as well. They diversify too, so instead of getting the same basic answers out of pretty much every kid, they start telling you other interesting stuff they’d like to do. Luckily, there are plenty of college programs and degrees to support these matured interests: For instance, Sanford Brown College Milwaukee and Sanford Brown Institute Ft. Lauderdale are just two options for those interested in pursuing careers in the healthcare industry.
